Our own private home & studio during the last decade, reflects on the one hand the need for concrete and accurate thinking concerning the space performance, and on the other hand the necessity of its flexibility due to programmatic transformation occurred at later time.
Planning began when we purchased our own first apartment at the city center, with a vision of a space that combines dual-use of both residential and studio work in parallel, according to the different hours of the day.
The central principle of the planning process was the transfer of public functions (Kitchen = conference room, living room = waiting area, library = library, computer desk and the appendices = mess) to the transparent and completely exposed front facing the street. The back contained the bedrooms, bathroom and storage, which benefited all developers access by two directions for functional efficiency and optimization.
Every two years the space got his minor facelift in order to maintain a contemporary look, but over the years the studio uses went out of the house due to many offspring, and the needs of storage and operation of accompanying toddlers gained control everywhere.
Two particularly noteworthy >> Space Centered oval table mainly used for eating \ stormy discussions \ doodle sketches \ hosting \ coffee talks etc., with groove edge that allows him to embrace constructive pillar covered with artificial grass carpet >> collection of antique copper sharpeners collected in different locations throughout dozen years on and diminished niche designated for them the longest wall of the space.
